The nine-day event showcases a wide range of mobile phones, gadgets and accessories from various brands.
Color F5 of Zopo, GR5 2017 of Huawei, C9 Pro of Samsung, S6s of Gionee, A3 of Lava and P85 Plus of Colors are among the major attractions at the expo. Likewise, Gear Max of DTC, SF 1.5 of Obi, Axon mini of ZTE, F1s of Oppo, and iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus of Apple, are also on display.
The mobile sets are available at Rs900 to Rs140,000.
Stores are offering discounts of up to 70 percent on their products, besides giveaways like power banks, selfie sticks and Bluetooth speakers. Visitors can also avail repair facilities.
Inaugurating the expo, Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi urged entrepreneurs to open mobile manufacturing plants in the country.
“The government is ready to provide necessary support to set up production plants,” he said.
Being held with theme “Mobile Kinau Bujhera, Upahar Chhanau Rojera”, the aims at making available quality products for customers and educating people about branded mobile phones in order to discourage the grey market, the organisers said.
Lalitpur Mobile Complex Chairman Purushottam Basnet said they have been offering products keeping in mind customers’ preference.
The complex, which houses 40 stores of mobile phones, offers handsets from a wide range of brands under a single roof. It offers service to 4,000-5,000 visitors at once.
The organisers expect 300,000 visitors and Rs50 million turnover during the expo.
