One of the unique features of the phone—an extension of the J series—is front flash, which enables users to take selfies in low light conditions.
The 4G-compatible phone is available for Rs13,990, Samsung Nepal said in a statement on Tuesday.
Galaxy J, one of the best-selling series of Samsung, is targeted at users in developing countries like Nepal and India, where people look for phones at affordable prices. Prices of Galaxy J series phones range between Rs15,000 and Rs41,000.
Galaxy J2 Ace is the cheapest phone in the J series. It will serve as Samsung’s most affordable smartphone in the 5-inch segment, the statement read.
“The response to our J series of phones has been phenomenal with consumers appreciating the build quality and affordable price range,” the statement quoted Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, deputy general manager of Samsung Nepal, as saying.
The Galaxy J2 Ace, which runs Android 6.0 operating system, is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 8GB internal memory, which can be extended to 256GB using micro SD card.
Like most of the phones in the Galaxy J series, the Galaxy J2 Ace comes with localised features like “ultra data saving” and “S-bike” modes. Other features include “S Power Planning”, a smart battery management system and the “S Secure” that assures safe and private browsing.
The handset is available in gold, black and silver colours. It boasts an anti-scratch back panel and is equipped with a 2,600mAh battery.
