One Sajan Chaudhary, 50, of Pakali, Itahari sub-metropolitan died due to the heat wave, police informed. He was a cart puller.
Chaudhary dragged herself to a nearby Peepal tree for rest, saying that he was suffocating from extreme heat . “He had told one Siwail Miya, a cobbler, that he was experiencing heat and that his abdomen was hot,” said Police Inspector Tika Bahadur Karki, “He died there shortly after.”
The body of the deceased has been taken to Inaruwa Hospital for postmortem.
