Notwithstanding the extensive damages to many cultural sites, the historic temple Pashupatinath—one of the holiest shrines of Hindu—survived the disaster. But some of the heritage sites of Pashupati area have suffered damages in the deadly quake.
The second major quake of 7.3 that rocked the country on Tuesday (May 12) dismantled many historical temples of Mrigasthali including the Bishworup and nine Shiva temples.
