Newly elected lawmakers pledge to work for statute, development
Newly elected member to the CA from Chitwan constituency-4, Ram Krishna Ghimire, of Nepali Congress, has said that his first priority would be to help draft the new constitution.Ekantipur Report
Talking to reporters after his victory in the CA by-election held yesterday, CA member Ghimire said he would also work towards fulfilling the development needs in his constituency.
"The people's representatives should now stop misleading the people as the country is slowly taking the democratic path ahead", he said while expressing the commitment to always work in the interest of the people.
Ghimire defeated his nearest rival Dil Kumari Rawal of the CPN-UML by 3,046 votes.
Issuing a statement here today, CA member Ghimire also thanked all those who contributed directly or indirectly to his victory including the voters who voted for him.
‘Will fulfil promises made to voters’
Newly elected CA member from Kathmandu constituency-2, Dipak Prasad Kuinkel, of NC, has said his first priority would be to fulfil the promises made to the voters.
Talking to media persons following his victory on Monday, he expressed his commitment to work to complete the constitution drafting process.
"This is a victory of the people, they are supreme", he said while pledging to work with an action plan to realise the commitments made to the people.
Also on the occasion, Election Official Achyut Bista presented Kuinkel with the certificate of election to the Constituent Assembly.
Following the announcement of the result, NC cadres and well-wishers took out a victory rally.
