Shrestha spits venom against judiciary on social networks
Former DPM and UCPN (M) senior leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha was visible on social networks on Monday with his controversial remarks that the "corrupt" judiciary must be bombed.Taking to Twitter, Shrestha commanded, "Bombard the corrupt judiciary!" He called on the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee, that he misabbreviated as (PPHC) in his Twitter post, to take a "bold decision to reject the present list of Judicial Council recommendations for SC justices".
In a Facebook post, Shrestha accused the judiciary of being "corrupt, autocratic and traditional" and urged unity against such a state organ.
"Let's unite against a corrupt, autocratic and traditional judiciary. Let's scrap the Judicial Council's erroneous recommendation for Supreme Court judges," he said, adding that the justices who are capable and have clean image should be recommended for the post of Supreme Court judges and that an overhaul is necessary to ensure "a clean, transparent and competent judiciary".
With the contentious posts, Shrestha was only reiterating the position of his party that is against the JC's "controversial recommendations of tainted justices" for permanent apex court positions.
