A man died in a tractor accident in Salyan district on Wednesday.

The deceased, 49-year-old Kshetra Bahadur Khatri, was transporting compost manure from Bhalumare in ward 1 of Chhatreswari Rural Municipality when the tractor overturned at Uchhitegaura, trapping him under the trolley.

Ward chair Prakash Himal said Khatri died on the spot. His body has been sent to Salyan District Hospital for a post-mortem.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Keshar Kumar Neupane said three others travelling with Khatri escaped unharmed, as only Khatri had been sitting on the trolley.

Police are searching for the driver, 35-year-old Suresh Chand of Bagchaur Municipality, who fled the scene after the accident.
