Birendranagar

An armed group opened fire at Gauritol at ward 1 of Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet, on Saturday night.

Police suspected that Binod Giri of the same place was targeted by the assailants.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxman Shahi, Giri’s vehicle suffered damage in the incident. The security personnel seized a pistol, a bullet shell and a motorcycle from the incident site.

Shahi said four suspects were detained in connection with the incident. He refused to divulge further about the detainees stating that it could affect the investigation.

A source said an Indian sharpshooter was found involved in the incident.
