A 24-year-old new mother from Ghartigaun in Kushe Rural Municipality-9 who was displaced by the November 3 quake died from cold on Wednesday. 

The woman had given birth to twins after the earthquake. According to Harichandra Basnet, chairman of the rural municipality, the woman was living under a tent with her family after the quake destroyed their house. 

In Jajarkot, survivors who were displaced by the quake are falling ill one after another due to the cold. 

Earlier, on November 26, a 25-year-old woman from the same rural municipality who gave birth after the earthquake and was also living under a tent died of cold, said Basnet.
