Shahi of the Nepali Congress secures an HoR seat defeating Raj Bahadur Karki of the CPN-UML.

Aain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri of the Nepali Congress, a common candidate of the ruling alliance, has emerged victorious from Mugu.
Thakuri received 14,702 votes as per the final results to defeat his closest competitor Raj Bahadur Karki of the CPN-UML by a margin of 3,994 votes.
Karki managed to get 10,708 votes.
Thakuri started his political journey to become the district committee member of the Nepal Students Union in 2043 BS. He worked as the district committee member of the party in 2049 BS. He is currently president of the Mugu district committee of the party.
