Three dead, 12 injured in jeep accident in RolpaThe parked vehicle, carrying 15 passengers heading home for Tihar, reversed and fell some 100 metres down the road, police said.
Three people died in a jeep accident at Sulichaur bazar in Rolpa district on Wednesday. 12 others were injured in the incident that occurred at 3 pm today.
District Police Office, Rolpa informed that the jeep, en route to Gujal from Sulichaur in the district, was parked near Sulichaur bazar to load goods when it reversed and fell some 100 metres down from the road.
The vehicle was carrying 15 passengers heading to their homes to celebrate Tihar with their families.
Inspector Prakash Bhusal, spokesperson at the District Police Office, informed that two men aged 50 and 60 of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City in Dang and a 50-year-old woman died in the incident.
Sulichaur Area Police Office Incharge Inspector Om Prakash Wagle informed that severely injured seven people have been sent to Kohalpur, Banke-based medical college for treatment.
Rolpa Police Chief DSP Binod Ghimire said that an investigation is underway regarding the accident.
