Nepal logs 14 new Covid-19 cases

Nepal on Friday reported 14 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 978,648.

All 873 antigen tests returned negative results, according to the Health Ministry’s daily situation report.

As of Friday, 5,591,779 PCR and 1,148,175 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 3,030 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country did not report any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,951 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 966,259 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 55 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 438.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 10 new infections in the last 24 hours. Of them, nine were recorded in Kathmandu and one in Bhaktapur.

In the past 24 hours, one new infection was recorded in Province 1, 12 in Bagmati and one in Lumbini.

On Friday, nine individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another one was on ventilator support in Bagmati Province.

Nepal on Thursday reported three new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases. Similarly, 15 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded on Wednesday and 23 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Tuesday.
