Nepal reports 275 cases as rapid antigen tests added to daily infection tallies

Nepal on Friday reported 158 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 976,670.
Similarly, 117 people tested positive in a total of 3,176 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 5,407,666 PCR and 1,053,734 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,452 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
One person died from Covid-19-related infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,932 since the pandemic began.
According to the ministry, 955,458 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 555 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 9,280.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 54 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 44 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu and seven in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 29 new infections were recorded in Province 1, six in Madhesh Pradesh, 60 in Bagmati, 25 in Gandaki, 21 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 13 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each, other eight districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Thursday, 92 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 15—two in Province 1, 11 in Bagmati and one each in Gandaki and Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 151 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 256 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Wednesday and 299 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and three deaths were recorded on Tuesday.
