Nepal on Saturday reported 194 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 823,980.

Similarly, 42 people tested positive in a total of 3,506 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Saturday, 4,708,510 PCR and 758,091 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 5,672 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.

The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,553. The number of active cases stands at 5,883.

According to the ministry, 806,544 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 307 of them in the last 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 121 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 84 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 32 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.

In the past 24 hours, six new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 142 in Bagmati, 18 in Gandaki, nine in Lumbini and six in Sudurpaschim.

On Saturday, 112 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 27—seven in Province 1, 17 in Bagmati and three in Lumbini —were on ventilator support.

Nepal on Friday reported 232 new coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly, 197 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Thursday and 255 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Wednesday.
