Nepal reports 255 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,547 and the number of active cases stands at 6,239.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 255 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 823,357.
Similarly, 25 people tested positive in a total of 3,006 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,688,348 PCR and 749,137 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,168 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,547. The number of active cases stands at 6,239.
According to the ministry, 805,571 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 366 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 146 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 100 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 31 in Lalitpur and fifteen in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 34 new infections were recorded in Province 1, four in Province 2, 168 in Bagmati, 25 in Gandaki, 16 in Lumbini five in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim.
On Wednesday, 128 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 29—nine in Province 1, 18 in Bagmati and two in Lumbini —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 272 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 243 new coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Monday and 200 new coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Sunday.
