Nepal reports 243 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,524 and the number of active cases stands at 6,944.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 243 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 821,121.
Similarly, 16 people tested positive in a total of 2,657 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,618,231 PCR and 730,674 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,231 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,524. The number of active cases stands at 6,944.
According to the ministry, 802,653 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 264 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 115 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 78 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 30 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 34 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 137 in Bagmati, 34 in Gandaki, 17 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and eight in Sudurpaschim.
On Monday, 159 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 37—12 in Province 1, 22 in Bagmati, one in Gandaki and two in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 154 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 197 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Saturday and 242 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Friday.
