Nepal reports 197 new Covid-19 cases, three deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,521 and the number of active cases stands at 7,156.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 197 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 820,724.
Similarly, 16 people tested positive in a total of 1,725 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 4,604,396 PCR and 725,703 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,907 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported three Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,521. The number of active cases stands at 7,156.
According to the ministry, 802,047 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 325 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 121 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 94 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 20 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 21 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 15 in Province 2, 131 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki, 15 in Lumbini and two in Karnali and 15 in Sudurpaschim.
On Saturday, 178 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 30—11 in Province 1, 17 in Bagmati and one each in Gandaki and Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 242 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 281 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were recorded on Thursday and 305 new coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Wednesday.
