Nepal reports 272 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,545 and the number of active cases stands at 6,352.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 272 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 823,102.
Similarly, 43 people tested positive in a total of 2,424 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,679,180 PCR and 746,131 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,386 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,545. The number of active cases stands at 6,352.
According to the ministry, 805,205 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 304 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 122 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 82 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 31 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 25 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 142 in Bagmati, 48 in Gandaki, 37 in Lumbini, and four each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
On Tuesday, 123 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 30—eight in Province 1, 19 in Bagmati and two in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 243 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 200 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Sunday and 220 new coronavirus cases and five deaths were reported on Saturday.
