Nepal reports 220 new Covid-19 cases, five deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,540 and the number of active cases stands at 6,744.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 220 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 822,392.
Similarly, 18 people tested positive in a total of 1,502 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 4,654,685 PCR and 739,452 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,295 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported five Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,540. The number of active cases stands at 6,744.
According to the ministry, 804,108 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 392 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 158 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 97 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 51 in Lalitpur and 10 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 14 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 175 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki, four in Lumbini, six in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim.
On Saturday, 106 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 32—10 in Province 1, 20 in Bagmati, one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 246 new coronavirus cases. Similarly, 298 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were recorded on Thursday and 285 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Tuesday.
