National Covid-19 tally reaches 822,172 with 223 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Friday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 11,535.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 223 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 822,172.
Similarly, 23 people tested positive in a total of 1,436 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
According to the ministry, 803,716 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 347 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 6,921.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 93 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 55 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 29 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 34 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 14 in Province 2, 121 in Bagmati Province, 25 in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and 13 in Sudurpaschim.
As of Friday, 4,649,390 PCR and 737950 antigen tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 6,400 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Thursday reported 288 new coronavirus cases and six deaths. Similarly, 285 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Wednesday and 245 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Tuesday.
