Nepal reports 285 new Covid-19 cases, three deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,529 and the number of active cases stands at 6,954.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 285 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 821,651.
Similarly, 31 people tested positive in a total of 1,808 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,633,479 PCR and 734,622 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,919 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported three Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,529. The number of active cases stands at 6,954.
According to the ministry, 803,168 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 259 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 150 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 119 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 29 in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 50 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 15 in Province 2, 176 in Bagmati, 21 in Gandaki, 17 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and five in Sudurpaschim.
On Wednesday, 120 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 37—10 in Province 1, 20 in Bagmati, two in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 245 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 243 new coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Monday and 154 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Sunday.
