Nepal reports 298 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,535 and the number of active cases stands at 7,045.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 298 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 821,949.
Similarly, 17 people tested positive in a total of 1,892 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,642,990 PCR and 736,514 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,511 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,535. The number of active cases stands at 7,045.
According to the ministry, 803,369 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 201 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 156 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 99 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 42 in Lalitpur and 15 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 35 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 10 in Province 2, 182 in Bagmati, 20 in Gandaki, 28 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 19 in Sudurpaschim.
On Thursday, 110 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 38—14 in Province 1, 22 in Bagmati, one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 285 new coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly, 245 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Tuesday and 243 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Monday.
