Nepal on Monday reported 371 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 814,929.

Similarly, 19 people tested positive in a total of 2,420 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Monday, 4,454,220 PCR and 682,057 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 2,606 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported five Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.

The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,453. The number of active cases stands at 7,654.

According to the ministry, 795,822 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 425 of them in the last 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 162 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 117 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 20 in Lalitpur and 15 in Bhaktapur.

In the past 24 hours, 53 new infections were recorded in Province 1, three in Province 2, 174 in Bagmati, 48 in Gandaki, 65 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and 24 in Sudurpaschim.

According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; eight other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.

On Monday, 187 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 43—nine in Province 1, 28 in Bagmati, two each in Gandaki and Lumbini, and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.

Nepal on Sunday reported 141 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths. Similarly, 128 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Saturday and 174 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Friday.
