Nepal reports 667 new Covid-19 cases, eight deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,200 and the number of active cases stands at 15,942.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 667 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 800,282.
Similarly, 138 people tested positive in a total of 3,408 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,264,067 PCR and 604,710 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,264 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,200. The number of active cases stands at 15,942.
According to the ministry, 773,140 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 911 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 294 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 207 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 53 in Lalitpur and 34 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 136 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 335 in Bagmati, 88 in Gandaki, 64 in Lumbini, 16 in Karnali and 17 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, eight districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Thursday, 329 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 112-38 in Province 1, 66 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, five in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 849 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths. Similarly, 762 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were recorded on Tuesday and 812 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths were reported on Monday.
