With 1, 424 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 745,731

Nepal on Saturday reported 1, 424 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 745,731.
Similarly, 651 people tested positive in a total of 5, 372 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 3,821,248 PCR and 429,482 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7, 703 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 30 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,485. The number of active cases stands at 39,321.
According to the ministry, 695,925 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,382 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 667 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 483 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 103 in Lalitpur and 81 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 290 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 20 in Province 2, 765 in Bagmati, 134 in Gandaki, 130 in Lumbini, 64 in Karnali and 21 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 22 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 17 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Saturday, 718 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 166-51 in Province 1, 102 in Bagmati, four in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, two in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 2, 079 new coronavirus cases and 26 deaths. Similarly, 2,321 new coronavirus cases and 33 deaths were reported on Thursday and 2, 613 new coronavirus cases and 42 deaths were recorded on Wednesday.
