Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,903 with four more deaths; national tally reaches 263,605 with 412 new infections

Nepal on Thursday reported four more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,903. The country also recorded 412 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 263,605 with 5,058 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 256,644 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 483 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 251 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 198 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 28 in Lalitpur and 25 in Bhaktapur.
As of Thursday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 122,757. While Kathmandu has reported 476 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 149 and 110 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 951 individuals from Bagmati Province, 243 from Lumbini Province, 218 from Province 1, 216 from Province 2, 188 from Gandaki Province, 62 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 25 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Thursday, 1,969,292 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,132 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 19 new infections were reported in Province 1, nine in Province 2, and 289 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces reported 38, 50 and seven cases respectively.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Solukhumbu, Dolpa and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 184 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 32 others—19 in Bagmati Province, seven in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, and one in Karnali—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported six Covid-19-related deaths and 409 new infections. Similarly, eight deaths and 1,893 new cases were recorded in the country on Tuesday and seven deaths and 403 new cases on Monday.
