Guests at the ceremony also sang several Christmas carols, and children from Mendies Haven, a children home, performed a special dance performance. The event also featured a Santa Claus who came bearing gifts, much to the delight of the children at the event.
"We also have a small charity event, and the funds collected will be donated to Autism Care Nepal," said a representative from the hotel.
"I want to express my gratitude to everyone for their presence and for making this evening so nice. I wish all of you a great holiday season and would like to thank Hyatt Place Kathmandu for hosting an amazing event," said the American Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R Thompson.
The ceremony concluded with the guests enjoying the feast prepared by the hotel's Chef De Cuisine, Baburam Sharma, and his team.
