The trio of Deepak Rana, Bhim Pun and Amrit Gurung, who had started playing together from the early 90’s, released their first album, the self-titled Nepathya, on April 1, 1993. Nepalaya, the band’s publicists, announced on Wednesday that Nepathya’s many performances in the coming year will be part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration.
To mark the occasion, the band is slated to release a clutch of new songs and videos on Saturday.
“We have been involved with several fields as part of our philanthropic activity,” said Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung. “On this important juncture, we want to be involved in supporting Nepali music and hence we will be involved with Paleti series of concerts through the year. Our band members had contributed to Paleti during its initial period, now we want to support it for its continuity.”
The band will kick off their silver jubille year with a concert in their hometown Pokhara, slated to be held on April 8. The band also plans to release its tenth studio album in its entirety later this year.
