Zonta Club Kathmandu Nepal organised the premiere show of a film based on litterateur Jhamak Ghimire’s Jiwan Kanda ki Phul in the Capital on Monday. Produced and directed by Binod Bista, Jiwan Kanda ki Phul traces the life of Jhamak Ghimire from her childhood through her formative years. During the event, the organisers announced that all proceeds from the movie premiere will go to the Zonta Club’s women empowerment projects.
Born to a farming family in Dhankuta, the differently-abled 35-year-old Ghimire has already published more than a dozen books including Jeevan Kanda Ki Phool, Sankalpa, Manchhe Bhitraka Yoddaharu (The Warriors within Humans), Quaati, and Be Mausam Ka Aastha Haru; and has to her credit more than five dozen awards for her literary achievements.
In her message which was read at the premiere, Fahmida Karim, international President of Zonta Club said, “Today, I am proud, and would like to congratulate the club, for acknowledging the contributions of such a woman who has made a great impact on the society and the lives of the less fortunate and inspiring them.”
