This is a great disaster for any show that relies on technology. The connection between the musician and the audience was cut off. However, the show went on as the audience kept the show alive.
The show in Los Angeles was organized by Friends of Nepal.
The technical glitch hit the performance when the band was performing their rendition of Shyam Tamot's 'Gaun Gaun bata utha'. The audio system went off, but the audience covered it up by continuing to sing along. They kept on singing for almost 3 minutes without music till the sound system got back.
The band and the musicians were extremely touched by this gesture of the Los Angeles crowd gathered to enjoy the evening. Amrit Gurung, frontman of Nepathya, expressed his gratitude in a Facebook post: "We are indebted to all our well wishers and audience. We are humbled to receive such loving gesture during the technical breakdown at our Los Angeles show. Thank you. Your love is the greatest asset we have earned..."
Nepathya’s LA show kicked off with their Langtang special – Bhedako Oon. The evening then cruised through for almost two hours with Nepathya’s earthy Nepali music.
Nepathya will now move on to Atlanta to perform at the Center Sage on the July 2. The show is organised as part of the ANA convention 2016.
