Aesthetic Dance Studio has announced the second edition of the Suresh Mishra Memorial Award, an annual initiative established in memory of the late dance educator Suresh Mishra. The event will be held on 29th July at the EK Theatre.

Organised annually on the occasion of Guru Purnima (Teacher's Day), the award recognises individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the field of dance. It honours artists, teachers, choreographers, and other members of the dance community whose commitment and vision continue to strengthen the art form in Nepal.

"Our director, Namrata KC, was one of Suresh Mishra Sir's students and shared a deep bond with him. That connection inspired us to establish this award in his memory," said Akrist Khadka of Aesthetic Dance Studio. "From the very beginning, we decided this would never be a one-time initiative. We committed ourselves to organising it every year so that his legacy continues to inspire the dance community."

Following its inaugural edition last year, the ceremony returns with the theme 'The Legacy That Dances On', celebrating Mishra's lasting influence while encouraging the next generation of dance practitioners. According to the organisers, the initiative seeks to preserve his legacy by recognising those working to develop and advance Nepal's dance sector.

This year's programme will also feature performances by dancers and artists from various dance studios, bringing together members of the dance community to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression.
