Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya is embarking on a five-nation European tour next month, with performances scheduled in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Malta, Portugal, and Belgium. The tour will begin on August 9 with a concert at Wembley Arena, London, and will conclude in Antwerp, Belgium, on September 3.
Kiran Krishna Shrestha of Nepalaya, the band's long-time management team, said the London concert would mark the start of a series of shows aimed at reconnecting with Nepali audiences across Europe. Nepathya’s next stop will be Copenhagen, Denmark, where they are set to perform at Pumpehuset (Pullen Hall) on Saturday, August 23.
The venue, a former industrial warehouse converted into a regular rock concert space, previously hosted the band in 2016.
Following Denmark, Nepathya will head to Attard, Malta, for a performance scheduled on Wednesday, August 27, at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC), located in the northern part of the island.
The tour will then move to Lisbon, Portugal, where the band will take the stage at Lisboa Ao Vivo on Sunday, August 31.
The final leg of the tour will see Nepathya return to Antwerp, Belgium, for a show at Studio Seven (AED Studios) on September 3. This will be the band’s second appearance in the city, following their 2005 performance at the Arenberg Theatre.
“While Nepathya performed in Hamburg and Copenhagen during their last European tour in 2016, this time the tour reflects the growing diversity of their audience, particularly among Nepalis who have migrated to Europe for economic opportunities,” said Shrestha. According to local organisers, cities such as Malta, Lisbon, and Antwerp have recently seen a surge in Nepali residents, prompting high demand for tickets.
“From remote Nepali villages to the world’s biggest cities, the love for Nepathya’s music remains consistent,” Shrestha added. “We are maintaining our commitment to technical and organisational excellence, and all concerts on this tour will take place in top-tier venues with professional sound and lighting setups.”
The band’s 14-member touring team includes musicians, technical staff and management personnel. On stage, lead singer Amrit Gurung will be joined by Dhruva Lama (drums), Subin Shakya (bass), Niraj Gurung (guitar), Shanti Rayamajhi (madal), and Dinesh Raj Regmi (keyboards).
