Post Report
The Hidden Treasure has opened applications for Miss Nepal 2025.
The eligibility criteria require participants to be between 18 and 27 years old and have a minimum height of 5'3". Applicants must also hold Nepali citizenship. Registration is free, and applications close on July 10.
The event announcement programme took place at the Plaza Hotel on Tuesday. Emcee Arina Shrestha introduced Miss Nepal 2023, Srichha Pradhan, who shared her experience representing Nepal at Miss World. Quoting a line inspired by her time in Vermont, the US, she emphasised the value of taking unconventional paths.
Pradhan also spoke about her initiative ‘Pancha Pranali’, which she described as a framework highlighting Nepal’s philanthropic strengths. She encouraged future participants to treat the platform as an opportunity for long-term impact rather than short-term recognition.
This year’s pageant will crown four winners: Miss Nepal World, Miss Nepal Earth, Miss Nepal International, and Miss Cosmo International, a globally recognised beauty pageant where Miss Nepal will be representing for the first time.
Hidden Treasure’s Director, Subarna Chettri, reflected on the pageant’s evolving relevance and underscored its intention to adapt to present-day issues, including sustainability.
Director Pramod Kanskar acknowledged the event’s financial challenges but affirmed that it would continue with scaled planning. He also announced regional auditions in Birtamod (June 30), Janakpur (July 8), and Biratnagar, with the Kathmandu round on July 12. Selected participants will travel to Pokhara from August 1 to 3 to create tourism-related content. A series of six televised episodes will follow their journey and will be broadcast on Himalayan TV.
Miss Nepal titleholders from 2024—Ashma Kumari KC, Karuna Rawat, and Sumana KC—shared reflections on their experiences. Their remarks focused on personal growth, equal recognition of all titleholders, and post-crown responsibilities.
Speaking about the long-term vision regarding climate change and gender equality, director Chettri said, “Conservation is not just about afforestation but about preserving our heritage. Miss Nepal has always incorporated these issues”. Gopal Sundar Lal Kakshapati, founding chairman, added that organising Miss Nepal itself is a continued effort toward dismantling gender inequality in Nepali society.
The grand finale of Miss Nepal 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Sunrise Convention Centre in Godawari.
