Young designer Vardaan Devkota showcased his latest Spring/Summer 2025 collection, ‘SORELLE: The Elevated Elegance Collection,’ under his sustainable luxury fashion brand VAMA by Vardaan, at a Sip & See event held on Saturday at the Nepal Art Council.
The collection, which blends refined craftsmanship with contemporary silhouettes, was presented in an intimate setting. It celebrates women and their multifaceted identities. It features six distinct outfits, each dedicated to a woman who has personally inspired Devkota’s creative journey.
The collection, which includes six outfits, is named after six women: Sumi Devkota, Sneha Rana, Dr Arpana Shah, Dr Smrity Maskey, Namgyal Singh, and Ina Shrestha. Vardaan, also a London College of Fashion graduate, shared that he wanted to contribute meaningfully to the evolving fashion industry. His latest collection is dedicated to six women who have inspired him, each representing a unique facet of his creative journey.
“The essence behind naming the collection after these six women lies in their existence. Each of them has a unique story and background. Growing up, we saw many women around us, but we never really knew their stories,” said Devkota. “So, the collection was designed to honour their existence and contributions.”
“The collection is comfortable–something reusable that can be worn repeatedly. I’m very happy to be a part of this, and as a doctor, it fits perfectly into my everyday wardrobe,” shared Dr Maskey.
“It’s heartening to see young people stepping forward and taking such meaningful initiatives,” shared Sumi Devkota, Vardaan’s mother and one of the collection’s muses.
“I believe Nepali fashion should have a global presence—and I’m ready to do whatever it takes to make that happen,” said Devkota. “Rather than building a highly diversified portfolio individually, I feel that if the fashion industry grows in unity, it would lead to something truly powerful. Growing together, supporting one another—that’s what would make the difference,” he added.
