President signs order on border, refugees
Trump's order declares illegal immigration at the Mexico border a national emergency and designates criminal cartels as terrorist organizations. He also signed an order about birthright citizenship, which confers citizenship on anyone born in the US.
Trump pardons about 1,500 people in Jan. 6 attack
He directed the Justice Department to drop all pending cases related to the 2021 attack on the Capitol. He said he hoped some of those imprisoned would be freed on Monday night.
Trump signs order on TikTok
The president delayed a ban on the video app, which was due to shut down in the US on Sunday due to national security concerns. Trump said the executive order gives him the right to sell or close TikTok. He ordered the attorney general not to take action in the case for 75 days.
Declaration of energy emergency
Trump has said he would open the Arctic to oil drilling and promote domestic energy production. An executive order intends to maximize energy production by reducing regulation and withdrawing the US from a global accord on climate change.
Reverses orders on diversity and gender
These were among 78 orders implemented by former President Joe Biden that Trump rescinded. During his inauguration speech, Trump said the US government would recognise only two genders — male and female— that could not be changed. He also reversed a Biden policy that sought to promote racial equity.
Withdrawing from World Health Organisation
The president signed an order undertaking the move, saying the global health agency had mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic and other health crises.
Restores sanctions on International Criminal Court staff
Trump revoked a 2021 Biden order that in turn had reversed a 2020 order by Trump that authorized the economic and travel sanctions.
