Nepal’s hilly and mountainous regions are likely to see generally cloudy conditions on Tuesday, with snowfall and rain expected in several areas, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

In the afternoon, clouds will cover most hilly and Himalayan areas, while the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy. Moderate snowfall or rain is likely at some places in the high hills and mountains of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. A few Himalayan locations elsewhere may also receive moderate snowfall or rain. Light rain is possible at a few hilly locations in Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim, and at one or two high hilly places in Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini.

At night, the Himalayan region will remain generally cloudy, while the hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim, along with other provinces, will see partly cloudy skies. The Tarai is expected to remain mostly clear. There remains a chance of moderate snowfall or rain at a few high hilly and Himalayan locations.

“The current weather pattern is influenced by a western low-pressure system,” the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.
