Fog is expected to persist across most parts of the Tarai on Wednesday, while the weather will remain partly cloudy in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of several provinces.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces could see light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and Himalayas during the day. The rest of the country is likely to see mainly fair weather.

At night, fog will continue in most Tarai areas. Partly cloudy conditions are forecast for the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other areas will remain mostly clear. Light rain or snowfall is again possible at isolated locations in the high hills and Himalayas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali.

The division said the weather system is influenced by a partial impact of westerly winds across the country.
