Dense fog is likely to affect daily life across the Tarai on Thursday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

In its forecast issued at 8 am on Thursday, the division said fog or mist will prevail in the Tarai during the day. The hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain partly cloudy, while the remaining hilly and Himalayan regions will see mostly clear weather.

At night, fog will continue in the Tarai. Parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with the hilly areas of Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, are likely to witness partly cloudy conditions. The rest of the hills and Himalayan regions will remain mainly clear.

The division said the weather system is being influenced by a partial effect of westerly winds across the country.
