The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of the country over the next 24 hours.

In its Sunday morning bulletin, the division said the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country. Moderate rain is expected at some places in the hilly regions and a few areas of the Tarai during the day, with chances of heavy rain at one or two places in the hills of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

At night, moderate rainfall is likely at some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places elsewhere. Heavy rain is also possible at one or two locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini and the hilly areas of Gandaki Province.

According to the division, the monsoon trough is currently positioned near its average location.
