The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country on Thursday afternoon, with chances of moderate rainfall in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, including some hilly areas, and at a few places in the Tarai. Thunderstorms are also likely in parts of Madhesh Province and the Tarai areas of Lumbini Province.

Tonight, the Division said, skies will remain generally cloudy in Koshi and Madhesh provinces and in hilly areas, while other regions will see partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rainfall is expected in some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places in other provinces. One or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may experience heavy rainfall.

According to the Division, the monsoon trough is currently positioned to the south of its average location.
