The Meteorological Forecasting Division said skies will remain generally cloudy across the country on Monday.

In the afternoon, many areas of the hilly and Tarai regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, some hilly parts of other provinces, and a few Tarai areas are likely to receive moderate rain. Heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in the hilly and Tarai regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim. Thunderstorms may occur in the Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

At night, moderate rain is expected in some parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few locations in the remaining hilly and Tarai areas. One or two places in the Tarai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim may see heavy rain.

The Division said the monsoon trough is currently near its normal position, and moist air from the Bay of Bengal is influencing the country’s weather.
