The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country on Sunday, with moderate rain likely in some hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and in a few parts of the Tarai. Heavy rain is possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Karnali. The Tarai plains of Madhesh, Koshi and Lumbini provinces may also see gusty winds.

Tonight, conditions will remain generally cloudy in Madhesh, Koshi and most hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies. Moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few Tarai areas. Heavy rainfall is possible in one or two hilly locations of Gandaki Province.

According to the division, the monsoon trough is currently near its normal position, with moist air from the Bay of Bengal influencing Nepal’s weather.
