The Meteorological Forecasting Division said skies will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon, with chances of moderate rain in some hilly and Tarai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in parts of Madhesh’s Tarai. Heavy rain is possible in a few hill areas of Koshi and Bagmati.

Tonight, most hill regions of Koshi, Gandaki and other provinces are likely to stay generally cloudy, while the rest will see partly cloudy skies. Moderate rain may occur in some hill and Tarai areas, with a possibility of heavy rain in a few places of Koshi.

According to the division, the monsoon trough lies slightly south of its average position, keeping the monsoon relatively weak, though moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal continues.
