The Meteorological Forecasting Division said that generally cloudy conditions are expected nationwide on Friday afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in many areas of the hills and Tarai of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, in some hilly areas elsewhere, and in a few parts of Madhesh and the remaining Tarai. Heavy rain is also likely at one or two places in the Tarai of Lumbini Province and the hilly regions of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy across the country. Moderate rain is likely in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, including Madhesh Province, and at a few places in the remaining hilly and Tarai regions. One or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces could see heavy rainfall.

According to the Division, the monsoon trough is currently located north of its average position over the Tarai of Nepal. While the monsoon remains active across the country, the influence of moisture-laden winds has slightly weakened.
