The Meteorological Forecasting Division said that light to moderate rain is likely in parts of the hilly and Tarai regions of Koshi and Lumbini provinces this afternoon, with partly to generally cloudy conditions across the country.

A few places in the hilly parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Koshi provinces may experience heavy rain.

Tonight, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected across the country. Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places in the hilly and Tarai regions of Koshi, Lumbini and Madhesh provinces, and at isolated places elsewhere.

Heavy rainfall is also expected at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi Province.

According to the Division, the monsoon trough lies slightly north of its average position and extends across the Tarai. Although monsoon conditions prevail over the country, moisture-laden winds are currently weaker than usual.
