The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted generally cloudy conditions across the country on Wednesday, with widespread rainfall likely in the hills and isolated heavy showers in parts of Gandaki Province.

According to the division, many places in the hilly regions including Sudurpaschim Province are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning during the day. A few areas in the Tarai are also expected to receive rainfall.

Tonight, cloudy conditions will persist in the hills, while the Tarai is expected to remain partly cloudy. Thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are likely in some hilly areas and at one or two places in the Tarai. One or two locations in the hilly region of Gandaki Province could experience heavy rain.

The weather office said monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country, with the monsoon trough situated near its average position.
