The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast generally cloudy conditions across the country today, with chances of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few locations in the Tarai region.

One or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces may receive heavy rainfall, the department said.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected at some places in the hilly regions, including Gandaki Province, and at a few places in the Tarai.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division said monsoon winds are currently active throughout the country, and the monsoon trough is situated near the average position.
