According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected across the country today. There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few locations elsewhere.

One or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces could experience heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely in some areas of the high-hill and mountainous regions.

Tonight, similar conditions are expected to persist, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely at some places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in the rest of the country. Heavy rain is likely at one or two locations in Gandaki Province. There is also a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall in some high-hill and mountainous areas.

The monsoon trough is currently positioned slightly north of its average location, and monsoon winds are affecting weather conditions across the country.
