The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely across various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, particularly in hilly regions.

According to the division, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces could see heavy rainfall at one or two places on Friday. The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.

There is also a chance of light to moderate snowfall or rain in a few places of the high-hill and Himalayan regions. Brief windstorms are possible in some Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

During the night, light to moderate rain is likely in some areas of Koshi Province, and at isolated places in the hilly regions of Madhesh and other provinces. The high-hill and Himalayan regions may also experience light to moderate rain or snowfall at one or two places.

The division said that monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country and the monsoon trough remains close to its average position.
