The weather will remain generally cloudy across the country on Monday, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in some areas, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Rainfall is expected in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, especially in the hilly regions. A few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces may receive heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also likely in a few high-hill and mountainous areas.

At night, the weather will remain mostly cloudy across the country. Thunderstorms with light to moderate rain are likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places elsewhere. Heavy rain is also likely at one or two places in Koshi and Lumbini provinces.

According to the division, monsoon winds are currently affecting the country. The monsoon trough lies near the average position in the east and slightly north of the average position in the west.
